DKP & Raid Rules

Introduction

What is DKP? A question common to those who are new to raids.DKP stands for Dragon Kill Points which we use to purchase items dropped by any mobs/bosses in raids. For a big raid, like 25man or 40 man (pre-TBC era) it is more practical to buy an item instead of having 25 or 40 men roll at once. Leaving things to chances is something people poor at doing especially when they are there ones that is losing the rolls. DKP is a method intended to encourage people to join raids and is use as a weapon to keep raiders in line.
What better way to keep the raiders in line than to remind them that any 'noob' mistake they do will resulted in the reduction of their DKP which will lead to the decrease chances to purchase/win an item.
As you noticed earlier, I use the term 'DKP system', and for every system, there have to be certain rules implemented to make the system works. We, the Panglima Horde, also have our own sets of rules and we advise the fellow raiders to always bear these sets of rule in mind always.

Rule 101
1. Always know when the raids are being held.
There are a lot of methods you can use to obtain this particular information. We encourage raiders to install an addon call group calendar and can be downloaded from this link

http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/1958/

There is also a raid calendar located to the left of this web page that serves the same purpose. The GMOD (Guild Message Of the Day) also informs any latest information about the guild's movement such as raids/primals donations ect.Do bear in mind as the message will keep on changing, the best way is still using the calendars. The least you can do to obtain the raids informations is by asking around. A guild is suppose to be a community and a community will fall with out any communications.

2. Bring enough amounts of consumables..
Potions (health/mana) elixirs and flasks not to mention reagents if your character requires it. Food buffs will be handed to raiders but with their limited amounts, raiders are encourage to bring their own food buffs. You are also encourage to bring a spare sets of gears (example, tankers with DPS gears or mages with stamina gears). There are cases where raiders have to change gears to survive a raid/boss.

The most taboo thing to do is not having the right specs during raids. We do not prevent players from doing some PVP between raids but do bear in mind as pvp specs are different from PVE specs, we will take this action as a serious violation and will be dealt seriously. Make sure to have the right spec during raids.

3. Know the enemy.
To defeat the enemy, we have to know the enemy. With that said, all raiders should read about the bosses/trash mobs before hand. All the strategies/videos can be found at wowwiki/youtube but later down this thread I will post the links to it for easy access.

4. Silent Raid.
No talking in either raid/guild/party/say/officer channel during the distribution of loots. Things will go much faster is people pay attention.

All the simple rules here are more to common sense actually. Bear them in mind always and they will be useful to you in the future.

Gaining / Losing DKP

As we purchase items from boss/trash mobs drop, our DKP is decreasing and without methods to gain DKP no one will be able to buy new items at 1 point. These are ways for you to gain DKP and some of it will resulted in the reduction of your DKP.

Gain DKP

1. Registering for a raid using the Group calender/ web page calendar. <<--Important

You will earn DKP for every attendance you registered on Group Calendar/Web Calendar but if you are unable to participate after registering there will be no raid for you for the next TWO raids.
But if you informed the raid leader beforehand that you might not be able to turn up you will be excuse from this. There are many ways to inform either by ingame mail to Kudus or Conggo. Our guild forums just leave a message that you might not be able to make it in the raid section of our forums and leave a comment on the reason why. Also failure to register in Group Calendar/Web Calendar but participating in a raid will resulted in NO LOOT for you in that particular raid.
